Adventures in Abstract Photography: An Artistry Techniques Workshop
Friday & Saturday, June 2 – June 3, 2017
at Mountain Lens Retreat, Hendersonville, NC
Susanna Euston’s “Adventures in Abstract Photography: An Artistry Techniques Workshop” will introduce you to in-camera and post-processing techniques that you may use to conceive and create original, unique landscape and nature photographs. The emphasis will be on creating the magic in-camera with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), Infrared and abstract Macro. And, in post-processing your work may be enhanced or transformed with a range of creative plug-ins.
The workshop will be held at Mountain Lens Retreat’s beautiful, rural campus near Hendersonville, NC. Click here for the lowdown on Mountain Lens!
Through slide presentations and demonstration in the classroom, we'll explore the abstract effects that may be created using Intentional Camera Movement, Infrared and Macro/Close-up in-camera methods. Use them to infuse your images with movement and energy, to bring them to life!
After lunch, we'll move from the classroom to the beautiful Mountain Lens grounds to experiment with the techniques learned.
We’ll then explore basic post-processing in Lightroom and Photoshop, and creative options in plug-ins such as NIK, Topaz, and MacPhun, which may be used to create different abstract effects. Many effects are painterly, others bold interpretations.
In closing, we’ll take a look at participant images created during our afternoon photoshoot and discuss techniques for refining them or planning for future captures!
We’ll begin Friday evening at 6:00 pm and end Saturday evening 6:00 pm. Click here for the Workshop Schedule.
